Human beings are wired for love because love is at the very center of God's design for the universe. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 13, Paul challenges us to examine whether love is truly governing everything we do. No matter how gifted we are, gifts without love are worthless in God's eyes. The key distinction is this: we are to use our gifts so that others make much of Jesus, not so that others make much of us. Love is not a bonus feature of the Christian life. It is the essential ingredient. And because we love only because He first loved us, the foundation of a truly loving life begins with receiving the love of God.
